Our Sustainable Initiatives

As a fashion producer, we recognize our responsibility to operate in a sustainable and ethical manner. We are actively working to reduce our environmental footprint and contribute to the circular economy through our operations in Singapore as well as our product and research initiatives. We invite our consumers and partners to join us on this journey toward a more sustainable future and our 2030 goal.

Eco-Conscious Materials

Since 2016, SABRINAGOH has prioritized the use of natural fibers, such as linen, modal, lyocell, and cotton, in a significant portion of our collection. These natural materials offer enhanced biodegradability, breathability, and comfort. To further elevate our commitment to sustainability, we have explored innovative materials like Tencel, EcoVero, and Solotex, which meet the rigorous standards of OEKO-TEX®.

In our ongoing pursuit of sustainability, we are actively researching methods to recycle synthetic materials like polyester and nylon, aiming to address their environmental challenges while maintaining desired qualities like no-iron and wrinkle-free performance. Our sourcing practices extend across Asia, including Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, and Indonesia. We believe in transparency and provide detailed material information to empower consumers in making informed choices.

Upcycle/Reworked Programs

SABRINAGOH is committed to reducing waste and promoting circularity in the fashion industry. As part of our upcycling initiatives, we have successfully transformed unsold clothing, leftover sample fabric, and offcuts into new products. Our face mask range, crafted from Solotex offcuts, is a prime example of how we have repurposed materials to create innovative and sustainable products.

Green Packaging

SABRINAGOH is committed to environmental sustainability. Since 2010, we have used 100% recycled paper for our shopping bags and encouraged customers to bring their own reusable bags. Our brand tags are also made from 100% recycled paper, ensuring minimal environmental impact.

To further reduce waste, we are transitioning away from single-use disposable packaging in our production process. By 2024, we aim to implement reusable packaging solutions and ensure that all packaging materials are recycled at the end of their useful life. Through these initiatives, SABRINAGOH is actively working to minimize its environmental footprint and promote sustainable practices.

BYO Bag & Transparent Resource Funding

Bring Your Own Bag (BYO) Movement

SABRINAGOH is committed to promoting sustainability and reducing waste through our Bring Your Own Bag (BYO) movement. To encourage customers to adopt reusable bags, we will begin charging a nominal fee of $0.30 for each paper bag used starting July 1st, 2023.

Our monitoring data have revealed that nearly 99.5% of orders include a paper bag that is often used only once before being discarded. Encouraged by the survey we conducted in 2022, we were pleased to find that 64.9% of our customers indicated their willingness to bring their own bags or pay for one if necessary.

To facilitate a smooth transition, we launched the "Weekend BYO Bag Movement" on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting from in March 2023. By implementing these initiatives, SABRINAGOH aims to make a significant contribution to environmental sustainability and encourage our customers to adopt more eco-friendly shopping habits.

Transparent Resource Funding

To support our sustainability initiatives, we have implemented a nominal fee of $0.30 for paper bags. While the actual cost of the bag is $0.43 per piece, we believe transparency is essential. By charging a fee, we encourage customers to bring their own reusable bags, contributing to a more sustainable future. Additionally, customers who are members with us and bring their own bags will earn 50 reward points, valued at $0.50.

SABRINAGOH is committed to eliminating the use of virgin plastic in our operations. We are actively redesigning our production and packaging processes to promote reuse and recycling. Additionally, we offer complimentary basic alterations and affordable extensive alteration services to extend the lifespan of our garments and reduce waste.

By redirecting the funds generated from the paper bag fee towards sustainability initiatives, we are taking a significant step toward a greener future. We appreciate our customers' support in this endeavor and look forward to working together to create a more sustainable world.

“Making Sustainable Affordable” Market Research Survey

SABRINAGOH is committed to offering sustainable product options without compromising affordability. A recent customer survey revealed that 43.8% of respondents were willing to spend up to 10% more on a cotton shirt dress made from sustainable materials.

To make sustainable fashion accessible to a wider audience, we are actively exploring ways to optimize our product options and pricing. Additionally, we are conducting research into customer recycling habits and interest in trading in used or unused clothing to inform the expansion of our upcycling program.

By understanding our customers' preferences and behaviors, we can continue to develop innovative and sustainable solutions.
